Ali first appeared on screen in 1988, when she was in Crocodile Dundee II. Ali's presence was also seen on television screens. A Man Called Hawk and Wally and the Valentines were some of her TV roles. Ali's first big project was when she introduced Ashley Banks to life on the cult TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air , in the year 1990. With the help of star Will Smith, the series was a huge hit. It was among the top shows on the network, coming in 12th among the most watched shows from 1990 to 1992. It would also win two Golden Globe nominations.
