Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television presenter in the US and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. Anne Burrell. Burrell is the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. She also has explored Italy's cuisine and its culture and the surrounding environment. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English diploma and Communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." It was impossible to learn how to do, or even work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell resided in Italy for a year, studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Additionally, she worked at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian food and culture throughout her time in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of children who face difficulties. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador who promotes awareness of children with diabetes. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she is on the road to share her passion for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne has said throughout her professional career she's grateful to be able communicate with people what is most important for her.
